Netball: Experience pays dividends for happy Windies

FANTASTIC passing and shooting was a highlight of Rangers' clash with Tod Terriers in the Todmorden Netball League.

In the final five minutes of the match it was Terriers who got the vital goals and went on to win 15-13.

Both Robins and Windies struggled for players with Robins fielding two new players, one of whom had not been on a court for 15 years.

Windies also called up one of their supporters who has cheered them on from the sidelines for years and went on to pick up player of the match plaudits in Windies' 17-9 win.

Jacks started with just five players against Pink Panthers and were soon chasing a side which welcomed back Lauren after maternity leave and shot well to win 24-4.

Jammy Dodgers won the toss for first centre against Lions and won an energetic match 17-14.

The previous week Windies had been given a 20-0 victory as Panthers could not raise a team.

Robinwood Robins and Lions Pride fought out a tight encounter.

Robins had to reshuffle as they were missing their regular shooter and the new defence took a little time to settle.

Indeed there were only two goals scored in the first half. Both sides found their shooting range after the break and it was Lions who kicked on to win 8-5.

Thundercats were quick out of the blocks against Jammy Dodgers and led 11-2 at half-time.

Jammys picked up the pace in the second half but it was too big a deficit to pull back and Cats held out to win 14-8.

The game between Tod Terriers and Jumping Jacks was a physical encounter to say the least but, despite being a player down in the second-half, Terriers won 14-4.
