Quiz League: Shannon through without handicap
SHANNON would have won their Todmorden Quiz League handicap knockout match at Con Club even without their handicap.
Con Club started poorly in the early rounds and couldn't improve much as the match progressed.
Hare and Hounds A's captain's comment on their match was "what a stuffing" as Jack's House continued their league winning form with a true demolition job leaving Hounds with their tails well between their legs.
At Cornholme the workmen took full advantage of the handicap advantage in their win against Hare and Hounds B. At home Todmorden CC pulled ahead by half time due to good rounds on Down Under and Bird Books.
They forged further ahead in the second half and were comprehensive victors against Bird and in doing so logged the night's highest score.
Results: Group A: Con Club 42, Shannon 71; Hare and Hounds A 47, Jack's House 77. Group B: Cornholme WMC 75, Hare and Hounds B 67; Todmorden CC 79, Bird I' Th' Hand 51.
Fixtures for March 24: Group A: Hare and Hounds A v Woodpecker; Jack's House v Shannon. Group B: Bird I' Th' Hand v Cornholme WMC. The remaining teams have no match.
