School sport: Young cricketers go from strength to strength

YOUNG cricketers from Shade School, Todmorden, have gone from strength to strength.

Not only did they win the Todmorden family cricket competition held at Walsden Cricket Club, organised by Todmorden High School, but went on to the Calderdale cicket competition at Illingworth Cricket Club.

There they won all their games to become overall Calderdale winners.

The win took them through to the West Yorkshire Youth games, representing Calderdale, at Leeds Metropolitan University.

Though we did not win the children played excellently and most of the games could have gone either way.

These successes came on top of winning the Chance To Shine Competition held at Walsden Cricket Club making it very good year in cricket for the school with three competition wins out of four.
