Swimming: Beth and Joel are winners in pool
ON Todmorden Swimming Club's recent return to the North East Lancashire Friendly League, their first gala was away at Great Harwood on March 1.
Todmorden lost the gala 46 points to 73, although this does not reflect how well the young swimmers performed with many of the Todmorden team competing in older age group events.
There were quite a few close races, with Beth Roscoe and Joel Deakin winning the girls and boys 9 to 10 years one length freestyle events respectively, Daniel Thompson winning the 14 years boys' breaststroke and Rebecca Sullivan the 16 years girls' backstroke event.
Todmorden's next gala will be at home against Accrington on April 12.
