More maximums keeps quality of darts high

MORE quality play boosted the number of 180 maximums being scored by Todmorden Mixed Darts Winter League players.

The recent round of matches in the A Division saw T. Gill of Shannon A, K. Hamer of Shannon B and TWMSC’s N. Sinclair all hit 180s, with the most 180s for the season leader board being headed by T. Hamer (Shannon A), K. Hamer abd C. Nelmes (Shannon A), all with two apiece.

In the B Division Royal George’s D. Rez hit a 180, with seven B Division players all hitting one apiece so far this season, the others being S. Tyzzer, A. Healy, A. Franklin, C. Inman, B. Birch and Sam Van Der Reyden.

Good finishing saw an A Division best checkout from TWMSC’s B. Maguire (113) while in the B Division two players from divisional leaders Royal George, D. Healy (112) and S. Schofield (114) continued the quality play.

The A Division highest checkouts so far are headed by B. Maguire (TWMSC, 152) in the A Division and by Royal George players J. Priestley and D. Healy (130).

Shannon A defeated Shannon B to lead the A Division from TWMSC, who in turn are four points clear of Cornholome Waggon and Hare and Hounds B.

Royal George’s six wins from six sees them four points clear of British Legion and Glen View at the top of the B Division.

Teams should note there will be a darts meeting on December 13 at the York Hotel (8.30pm).

This is for payment of first half of the season match fees and for registration for the A and B Division singles and pairs knockout competitions. Charity Knockout registration forms can also be collected.

Results - A Division: York Hotel A 9, TWMSC 12; Shannon B 7, Shannon A 14; Cornholme Waggon 11, Hare and Hounds B 10.

B Division: Royal George 18, Glen View 3; Rope and Anchor 9, British Legion 12.

League matches resume on January 3.
