Athletics skills are put to the test

All seven Todmorden primary schools took part in an under 11s sportshall athletics event at Todmorden Sports Centre.

Sportshall athletics is a nationally organised competition with regional and national finals.

Field events included soft javelin, standing long jump, standing triple jump and speed bounce. Track events included relays on the flat and over obstacles.

After the boys and girls results were combinedTodmorden C of E were the winners.

Ben Sutcliffe, the school sports coordinator at Todmorden CE School, said: “Sportshall athletics provides the ideal format to introduce young people to athletics and multi-skills competition.”
