Cup final to resume next week

The Rod Warhurst Cup final is still unresolved after the match at Rastrick was unable to resume last night.

Copley thirds made 226 for six in their 40 overs on Sunday before heavy rain meant Lightcliffe were unable to start their reply.

The pitch was unfit for action last night and the showpiece game of the year in the Foster’s Halifax League’s Sunday Section will now get under way again next Monday.

If no play is possible on Monday, or the match is not completed, next Tuesday will be used.

If the match is not completed on Tuesday a bowl-off on that evening will decided who lifts the trophy.
