Booth can be forgiven for not giving as much attention as usual to Saturday’s Foster’s Halifax League derby fixture at Mytholmroyd.

They have the distraction of Sunday’s Parish Cup final clash with Jer Lane at Blackley and on what could be a warm day, are sure not to overwork their quick bowlers.

While Booth were losing at home to Triangle last weekend, ‘Royd grabbed their chance of points at bottom club Clayton to go fourth in the Premier Division.

Tom Earle blasted 85 as the visitors posted a healthy total of 290.

Zeb Mahmood was promoted to opening the bowling and responded by dismissing Clayton’s top five.

A quick win looked on the cards as Clayton slumped tyo 107 for nine but Sam Wilson (75) and Joel Metcalfe (63 no) more than douibled the total before James Cowens’ third wicket ended it.

Bridgeholme host Queensbury in Division One having registered a useful win at Northowram HT last week in their battle to beat the drop.

Tahir Mahmood (three for 32) amd Allah Ditta (four for 39) limited Northowram to only 147 , Kier Litjens getting 63 of them.

Mohammed Basharat (41) and Oliver Challis (26) clinched a four-wicket win.

Luddenden Foot host Greetland with renewed hope of catching Division Two leaders Low Moor.

Moor were beaten by Shelf last week while Foot scrambled a two-wicket win at Augustinians, aided by Grant Helliwell’s five for 46 and Chris Roy’s 63.

Ben Hampson’s six wickets were in vain as Old Town lost to Denholme Clough. Town go to Stones on Saturday.
