Russ Waring has got his season off to a flier at Todmorden Golf Club.
After winning the Rive Rocks Centenary the previous week, he followed up in the first medal of the year with an incredible eight under par nett 60.
He is putting his success down to advice provided by popular Todmorden golf guru David Setterfield, who will no doubt now be inundated with players hoping that he can cast his expert eye over their game.
Runner up in the medal was John Lukaszyk with an excellent 66, a winning score on most Saturdays.
Lukaszyk continues where he left off, being the winner of the Gold Medal final last Autumn.
In third place Ben Whitham posted another sub par round of 67. Whitham has been one of the club’s most consistent players over the past few seasons.
