Stafford helps Union side to success at Catterick

Todmorden GC’s Dave Stafford was in good form for the Halifax-Huddersfield Union side last Sunday.

Stafford took three points out of four as the team made it two wins out of two this season with a 21-15 success against Teesside at Catterick.

Stafford and Crow Nest Park’s Ben Adamson finished all square in their morning foursomes contest and the visitors trailed 7-5 at that stage.

However, the visitors learned plenty from their first trip round the course and took 16 of the 24 points up for grabs in the afternoon singles.

Stafford won his match against Andy Gray by one hole.

Hebden Bridge’s Ken Weatherill (9) shot 88 in Tuesday’s Union Senior Championship at Bradley Park which was won by Union team boss Chris Mear with 75.
