Todmorden will be looking to put a dent in Lowerhouse’s Lancashire League title bid when they play host to the championship favourites on Sunday.
Lowerhouse have been a model of consistency throughout the campaign and only need seven points from their remaining games to claim the title.
Todmorden go into the game following a mixed bag of results last weekend
On Saturday they played Rishton away and won comfortably.
Tod bowled Rishton out for 138 with the wickets shared amongst the bowlers. Stand in professional JP De Villiers took three for 37 and N. Doyle three for 22. The runs were knocked off in 27 overs with Simon Newbitt top scoring to bag the full 12 points.
The following day Tod were beaten at home by Haslingden.
The visitors were reduced to 63 for five but the Haslingden skipper, Phil Hayes, and former Burnley FC reserve team captain Alex Coleman batted well to take them to 226 at the close.
Nine Tod batsmen reached double figures but no one player was able to go on and score a half century which would have taken them over the line.
