WHEN a new indoor cricket net facility with ground-breaking technology opens up early in the new year, it will be run by members of the dedicated cricket fraternity in the upper Calder Valley.

The Cricket Factory, in Sowerby Bridge, has teamed up with innovative cricket technology providers, Pitch Vision to provide a world class indoor facility with ground-breaking motion-tracking technology built into every net.

Its managing director is Chris Berry, a Hebden Bridge CC stalwart, and head coach Matthew Dawson is a Walsden wicketkeeper-batsmen. Matt is an ECB Level 3 coach.

Opening in the first week of January 2012, The Cricket Factory is an exciting new indoor - cricket specific - net facility, meaning no more roll out carpets and dodgy lighting, simply four lanes of proper indoor cricket nets, over 10 metre bowling run ups and top of the range lighting, flooring and netting.

The technology gives grass roots players the sort of instant analysis previously only available to top level professionals including: video of each delivery and shot - and motion tracking showing ball speed, line, length and bounce, and for batsmen, shot direction, runs scored and how out.
