Netball league round-up

LIONS were losing to a depleted Giants side but pulled back to draw in the latest series of matches in the Todmorden Netball League.

Although a player down, Giants set off on a mission.

GS held her place well and found the net with ease.

Lions worked for every ball. GK was playing out of position and had a height disavantage but gave it her all.

Lions were loosing at half-time but they managed to pull back for a 14 - 14 draw.

The match between Panthers and Windies ended early due to an injury to a Windies player.

It was a close game throughout but the score was 18 - 13 to Panthers when the play was halted.

It is always a good game between the two sides and some tight defending by Panthers made it hard for Windies to get the ball into the circle.

GA Ellie Pearson had to fire in shots whenever she got the ball, and took a well derserved player of the match award.

Borough Bears were a player down but fought hard throughout.

It was an entertaining game, but even though Bears did well with a player short Jammys stole the show with some excellent shooting to run out convincing 30 - 11 winners.

Terriers made a steady start against Twisters and never looked back, running out 20 - 6 winners.

Terriers began by making some calculated moves and passes. Twisters fought well but gave away some passes from which Terriers took full advantage.

There was some nice passing from both teams but some of them went loose from Twisters, which allowed Terriers to take an early lead of 7-0.

Twisters worked hard to keep possession in turn holding back further scores from Terriers,which brought the scoreline to 9-3 at half-time.

Another fast paced half followed with Terriers picking passes well and getting the ball into the circle with ease.

Twisters took opportunites whenever they came their way, but in the end could not hold Terriers, although they were made to work for every goal.

Rangers had no game.
