Netball round-up - Giants toppled

Rangers played fluently with clean shooting in the latest series of games in the Todmorden Netball League.

Clever swapping of marking caught Giants off guard on several occasions causing them to make mistakes and allowing Rangers to register a 24 - 9 victory.

Giants worked well as a team using the court but missed several shots and some sloppy passing gave Rangers chance to take advantage.

Windies got off to a slow start against Lions, who scored the first five goals.

They pulled it back to 5-6 half time. A swap round in the goal circle gave the GS, Lisa Pearson, more room to move and score in a great comeback by Windies to win 16 - 15.

The game was extremely evenly matched with some superb shooting from Lauren Fielden and Lauren Wiszniewski, which helped Lions into a strong position. Victory was snatched from their hands in the final minutes.

Borough Bears made a great start as they took the first four goals before going on to beat Twisters 16 - 6. Passing from both teams was good and defences were outstanding.

In the second half Twisters scored first with Bears making errors. They made a valiant comeback but Bears were too strong.

Panthers fought hard to try to pull it back but Jammies were too strong and went on to win 20 - 14..

Terriers had a bye.
