Netball - Terriers get their teeth into Lions

Terriers ran out convincing winners over Lions in the latest series of matches in the Todmorden Netball League.

They started the game in a bit of a sloppy fashion but soon found their stride and their shooting was fantastic as they registered a 28 - 3 victory.

Lions tried hard but could not keep up. Terriers needed the goals to improve their goal difference as they are chasing for the top spot in the league.

It was close game in the first half between Bears and Panthers but Panthers’ speed and passing accuracy took hold in the second half to run out 22 - 12 winners.

It was a good game throughout, well played by all the participants with excellent shooting by Rachel Wain.

Yet again Rangers were fielding players out of position, but good defence ensured Jammies were kept under pressure.

But they were unable to stem the tide and the result went 22 - 16 to Jammies.

There was even passing on both sides in the game between Twisters and Windies, with long possession between goals.

Windies eventually ran out 14 - 8 winners.

Good defending from Mandy Hirst and Rachel Grundy made Windies’ shooters work hard,

Windies GK Ellie Pearson also made some excellent interceptions.

Both teams were evenly matched going into the second half with Windies then slowly creeping into the lead and some glaring misses from Twisters shooters allowed them to stretch to a winning lead.

Giants had a bye.
