Only six fish at Townhouse as final approaches

LAST Tuesday’s Todmorden Angling Society evening match on Town House only attracted six members.

Result: 1, Chris Lett (16lb 12oz) carp on paste/pole; 2, Frank Szakaley (16lb 8oz) ide/roach pole/caster; 3, Lee Cavanagh (14lb 12oz).

The final of the Tuesday competition will take place on Bank Holiday Monday on both Croft and Town House.

Both these waters are closed to pleasure anglers until after the match.

The match is drawn up to 1.45pm, fish at 2.30pm to 7.30pm, for members only.

Last Sunday’s trophy match on Town House attracted 11 entries with the first three all recording a good weight of catch.

Result: 1, Pete Mottram (66lb 10oz) carp pole/meal; 2, Rob McKendry (44lb 10oz) carp/ide; 3, Chris Oliver (42lb 8oz) carp pole and pellet.

The next trophy match is on Sunday, September 4 on Croft.

Last Sunday’s canal open match was fished at Castleton by 19 anglers.

Result: 1, Derek Greenwood (6lb 13oz) roach pole/squatt; 2, Simon Walton (5lb 15oz) roach and tench pole/squatt; 3, Dave Bradley (5lb 4oz) roach, pole and punch; 4, Steve Ashworth (4lb 14oz).

The next canal open Sunday match is on Sunday, September 4 - Nehesco up to Lane Bottom.
