Passing lets Bears down in netball nailbiter

Borough Bears passing let them down as they lost 10 - 8 to Panthers in the latest series of matches in the Todmorden Netball League.

It was a close game with Panthers being a player short.

With new additions to the team Bears failed to gel in the first half but improved in the second although they could not pull back the Panthers’ lead.

The top two in the league played out a fast competitive game.

Jammys eventually pipped Rangers 17 - 16 in an exciting game.

After a scrappy first half with a single score separating the two teams, Windies pulled away to beat Jacks convincingly 17 - 2.

Windies piled on the points in the second half despite outstanding efforts from newcomer Karen Marshall.

Windies soon got into the game and capitalised on Jacks miss-passing.

Excellent defending in the circle kept Jacks score low, allowing Windies shooters to capitalise.

Their confidence was high, particularly in the 2nd half.

Simple mistakes and a disregard for possession took a heavy toll on Jacks.

Terriers beat Lions 26 - 9 in a fast game with top form shooting from Terriers giving them a strong win.

There were some excellent interceptions from Terriers.

Some lovely passing into the circle gave them a well needed win after having to forfeit last week’s game.

Giants had no game.
