Polished performance puts side in driving seat

POLISHED Knob were in the driving seat for the Todmorden Quiz League title going into last night’s final round of matches.

Their single point victory over Bridge End saw them take top spot from Hare and Hounds B, who have led for much of the season, after Hounds were held to a draw by Hare and Hounds A in the Old Town derby!

The A team were six points ahead of the B team going into the last round but could not hang on for victory and the result was a tie.

Victory by a single point gave Weavers their second win of the season against Cornholme’s workmen.

Woodpecker went ahead in the early rounds and although Bird@Queen came back in the second half a disastrous last round gave the home team an easy win.

Jack’s House maintained recent good form by defeating Royal George by an impressive margin.

At Shannon the home team impressed with their knitting know-how but were not well read enough as a poor round on literature in effect gave Todmorden CC the match.

The cricketers had the night’s highest score.

The annual presentation night and Charity Shield quiz will be at Todmorden Cricket Club on June 8.
