Royd Club still set for promotion

Royd Club FC look likely to be promoted from Division Two of the Halifax Sunday League, despite losing 2 - 1 at home on Tuesday to Ryburn United.

It put them into third place and they must wait until it is confirmed that three go up,

One of those coming down will be Hollins Holme, who lost 4 - 1 at Elland Sports Reserves on Sunday.

In a top-of-the-rable battle on Sunday Royd also went down 4 - 2 to rivals Stallions.

Stallions pulled out all the stops against Royd and in a productive first half found themselves 3-0 to the good courtesy of a Ryan Seekings brace and a header from Luke Maguire.

They made the mistake of easing up after the break which allowed Royd to hit back and reignite their interest.

However, Stallions made sure of the points with Aidy Parkinson netting the decisive fourth.

Rastrick Bowling Club were beaten by a single goal at home to Hebden Bridge while Stubbing Wharf were 3-2 winners over King Cross CB&AC Reserves.

Hebden Bridge lost their game at Halifax Rangers Reserves 2 - 1 on Tuesday.
