THE prize presentation night of the Hebden Royd Pool League was held at the Robin Hood Inn, Pecket Well.

The Golden Lion this year managed to retain the Community Shield but struggled to maintain previous form due to two top players transferring to the Shannon and Chesapeake.

The invigorated Shannon and Chesapeake team managed to win the double crown of First Division League Champions and the League Knockout Trophy.

They also managed to win the Player of the year award through Matt Schofield who got a 100 per cent success rate in league division one games.

Tim Davies, a second division Player from the White Lion, Heptonstall, battled through to win the Singles Champion Trophy.

The Doubles Champions this year are Tom “Woody” Wood and newcomer Tom Young. Both play for the Trades Club.

In the second division the Weavers Arms at Luddenden Foot became the second division Champions

The second division Player of the Year was Jonjo Hill from White Lion, Heptonstall.

The Landlords’ Trophy winner is the Albert Hotel.

The Summer Pool League will start on June 18 due to bank holidays .

New fixture lists will be delivered before then. The League needs the return of all entry lists for individual knockout sheets along with the £1 per player entry fees.

These can be handed in to Ken at Paint and Paper, Halifax Road, Todmorden.
