CAPTAIN Vince Korobczyc and Fred Stutter with 43 points led the way at Todmorden Golf Club’s Rabbits Open.
Second were Lee Dearden and Matt Saxon with 40 points and third place went to Mike Sparkes and Alan Payne with 39 points on a card play-off.
Fourth were Mark Pattison and Steven Tabner (Lowes Park GC) with 39 points and in fifth were Alan Troy and Steve McCarron also with 39.
Winners of the Ladies Competition run within the Rabbits Open with 36 points were Janet Taylor and Pauline Stafford and second with 35 points were Irena Brown and Irene Muldowny..
Winners of the prizes for individual holes were: nearest the pin, hole 5, Paul Pickup (Pleasington GC); hole 7, Irena Brown; hole 14, Steve Tabner; Hole 16, G Scholes; longest drive, Damien Pickup (Darwin GC), nearest the line, Steve McCarron; putting competition, Gary Symes.
Only four twos were recorded by Vince Korobczyc, Irena Brown, Lee Dearden and Paul Neely.
Andy Barker claimed his third Championship last Saturday.
He had a brilliant gross score of 68 in the first round to lead by five shots from Steve Hughes on 73, Ben Whitham on 74 and Michael Murray on 75.
He found it tougher in the second round, but his 75 was enough to win the title again with a 36 hole total of 143.
Murray carded 73 to finish on 148 in runner-up spot on a card play-off from Whitham, who had the consolation of the best-net prize on the day.
Both nearest the pin prizes on the fifth and 16th holes were won by Terry Makin, who also converted one of the putts to claim a birdie two.
Other twos were claimed by F. Stutter, P. Neely. A. Barker, A. Troy, S. Hemmington and Steve Hughes who had two.
The Seniors Open saw seniors captain Geoff Clayton partnering Peter Dawson win with 41 points after a card play-off from Paul Snook and Keith Waring.
The Rochdale pairing of Peters Ogden and Woosey were third from Ken Lambshead and Towneley’s Dave Horan. M.Baxter and L.Walsh from Rochdale completed the winners.
The latest mid-week medal went to Andrew Lupton with a net 68, followed by Dave Stafford on 69 and Michael Hartley on 70.
