TENNIS sessions in the sports centre on Tuesday afternoons have again proved popular with the youngsters of Todmorden and are set to continue to Easter.
This is a joint initiative between Calderdale Council, Calderdale Community Tennis Partnership and Todmorden Tennis Club.
Sessions are led by Andrew Spencer and Daniel Davey, two young coaches doing much to promote tennis in the Upper Valley.
“It’s great to see the young players enjoying themselves and having a go with such enthusiasm even when they find some of it difficult,” they said. Junior tennis sessions will continue throughout the summer at the Tennis Club from Friday April 29.
Todmorden Tennis Club is holding its annual dinner and dance on Saturday March 5 at Todmorden Town Hall with music from the Nightflyers dance band.
Proceeds from the event go towards maintaining and purchase of equipment so that opportunities for youngsters to play tennis can continue.
