Woodhouse United 5
Rochdale Sunday League Division Two
SLOPPY defending left Woodhouse with a mountain to climb - and they almost did it.
Slack marking allowed the visitors through to lead by two goals before Oliver Wood headed in from a Gary Fish corner.
But they soon found themselves under pressure again and conceded a third to go in 3 - 1 down at the break.
Manager Matthew Town gave his side a roasting but it had little effect until 20 minutes from the end, but by that time they were dead and buried at 6 - 1.
Somehow they got themselves back into the game with Wood getting his second from Terry Lowe’s cross.
Centre half Danny Clarkson then got a bizarre goal with a long kick from his own half which was missed by the Asia keeper.
Woodhouse pressed and Marc Walters reduced the deficit before Fish added the fifth, but it was too little too late.
