Waggon’s high score may be a new record

SHANNON’S three man team must have been shellshocked at Cornholme Waggon’s century of points in last week’s round of Todmorden Quiz League fixtures.

This was not only the night’s highest score but may be a normal league match, as opposed to cup handicap, Todmorden Quiz League record.

Jack’s House revived their form with a good win at Weavers. Hare and Hounds B fell behind in the early rounds and never managed to pull back against league leaders Woodpecker.

Over at Polished Knob the match was evenly contested until the last round where the home team gained victory against Queen. In a low scoring match Bridge End managed to edge a win against Royal George.

At Centre Vale, Hare and Hounds A were the second team to field a three man team but fought a valiant battle against the Cricketers and only lost on the last question of the night.

Results: Weavers 48, Jack’s House 70; Hare and Hounds B 54, Woodpecker 71; Shannon 22, Cornholme Waggon 100; Polished Knob 58, Queen 51; Bridge End 53, Royal George 47; Todmorden CC 66, Hare and Hounds A 62.
