Walsden seconds win chance at glory

IT was a chance of glory for the second team as they won through to the Burton Cup final after winning the previous day in the league.

There were contributions from all the batsmen, notably Paul Marrow with 37 and Oliver Gilford with 32 although top scorer was extras of 41 as Walsden made 202 for nine.

In reply visitors Norden could only manage 169 all out with Josh Barnes taking four for 27 and Joe Gale three for 27.

The day before they had thrashed visitors Clifton, winning by 131 runs mainly thanks to a fine 111 by Marrow, who was well supported by Stuart Hanson (47) and Oliver Gilford (39 not out) in the home total reaching 291 for seven.

In reply Clifton were all out for 160 with Oliver Gilford mainly doing the damage with six for 47.
