Woodhouse get bogged down

Woodhouse United 1

Talbot Head 5

Rochdale Sunday League Division Two

THE muddy ground made play difficult but the visitors adapted better than Woodhouse.

The opening quarter was a tale of two penalties.

Woodhouse, after dominating the opening 10 minutes, got one but Marc Walters failed with the spot kick.

At the other end, player-manager for the day Wojiech Slipco gave away another penalty and the league leaders took advantage.

Then Daniel Lively got caught in the mud and again the visitors grabbed their chance to increase the lead.

Shortly after they added another before Joe Whitham forced a penalty at the other end and then scored himself with the kick to make it 3 - 1 at half-time.

Two more goals in the second half sealed it for the visitors despite a fine performance in goal by Chris Halstead.
