Young players practise tennis skills

YOUNG tennis players from Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd congregated at Todmorden Sports Centre to practise their racquet skills, ball control and footwork.

Numbers have grown steadily to bursting point and the group is now full.

It is encouraging that so many young people are keen to have a go, have fun and enjoy themselves.

Thanks went to the LTA coach Peter Tetlaw and his assistants Thomas Kaye, Judy Bentham, Susannah Leah and Phillip Morton, not forgetting mums and dads.

It is envisaged that these sessions will continue to Easter when junior tennis will then start at the Todmorden Tennis Club’s grounds over the spring and summer months.

The club is holding its annual fund-raising event on March 10 with a dinner and dance open to all in Todmorden Town Hall featuring music from Full Circle, Bob Smith and the Champagne Trio.
