Bank Holiday Monday (May 5) sees an opening event for the Fielden Project spring exhibition at the Unitarian Church, Todmorden, which is free and open to all from 2pm to 4pm.
The Fielden Project is an ongoing opportunity to create work for a collective of nine artists based in and around Todmorden and from May 5 to 18 they will present an exhibition of site-specific work inside the deconsecrated Unitarian Church, Honey Hole, Todmorden.
For the first time in its history the church will serve as a makeshift contemporary art space, hosting work in a range of media - photography, film, sculpture, illustration and text, made in response to the unusual and imposing building and its physical and historical context.
On Monday there will be a chance to preview the exhibition, and there will also be food and refreshments available, sourced and produced in collaboration with local suppliers, including a limited edition artisan ale produced in Todmorden for this event.
There will be an accompanying programme of events such as artists talks, please visit our website for further information: www.thefieldenproject.com
The show is accompanied by a newspaper style publication produced by the eight artists, which is free and will be available from the church during the exhibition.
