The Rotary Club of Sowerby Bridge will put a vroom into the town on Sunday, May 29 when it stages its latest Classic Bike and Scooter Show.

And organisers say it will be even bigger and better than previous years.

As well as a wonderful collection of classics, there will be stacks of attractions and food stalls to keep all the family happy.

There will be a free cinema showing bike films with children’s screenings as well.

All visitors can take part in judging the bikes with prize giving at 3pm by the Mayor of Calderdale.

Meet visiting personalities from the world of classic biking during the day and take a close look at modern day superbikes and road bikes belonging those visiting.

The event takes place at The Wharf, Sowerby Bridge on the banks of the Calder and Hebble Navigation Canal - given a nice day, the perfect place to have a picnic while watching the narrow boats in and out of the locks.

A Grand Classic Bike Show Raffle raising money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Blood Bikes offers some great prizes including a week’s summer holiday in an alpine Austrian Chalet for four people including flights (conditions and dates for holiday apply, see tickets for details.)

Other prizes include:

lAn evening visit to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Air Support Unit at Nostell to view and inspect an Air Ambulance helicopter and talk to operators and pilots.

lA presentation case bottle of ‘House of Commons’ Whiskey.

lCases of wines.

lMeal gift vouchers from Sowerby Bridge restaurants

lComplimentary Bike MOT test gift vouchers

Tickets will be available from March 1 and the draw will be at the Bike Show following presentation of Bike Class and Best in Show winners.
