A BIG screen showing of the classic 1958 film A Night To Remember at the Hippodrome in Todmorden will be the first of many films using a new cinema facility in Todmorden.
The film is being shown this Saturday at 7.45pm exactly 100 years after RMS Titanic sank on her ill-fated maiden voyage to raise funds for the community owned and run Hippodrome Theatre in Halifax Road.
Following a good response from people interested in setting up a cinema a meeting will be held in early May to arrange a variety of films and events there during the year. The cinema will raise funds for improvement work at theatre, owned and run by the local registered charity TAODS. The event this Saturday will be free but donations will be welcomed after the show, and drinks, sweets and popcorn will also be on sale. Anyone interested in attending the initial cinema meeting in May can e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
