CALDER Valley fans of the musical Grease are asked to support a special screening of the musical to raise money for a charities.
The 1978 film, famous for its rock and roll soundtrack, stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John and organisers Hebden Bridge Ladies Circle hope the screening at Hebden Bridge Picture House on Thursday, November 17, will raise as much money as possible for Rainbows, as well as other charities.
This Halifax-based project offers peer support for children who have suffered from grief and loss in circumstances which include death, divorce, family bereavement, loss of a parent, domestic violence and children in care.
To add some extra zip to the night, there will also be a live dance demonstration by TC and Joycey-B’s Swing Jive Class. Moyles’ bar in New Road will be offering a discount on selected drinks before the film on presentation of your ticket, and local businesses have donated prizes for a raffle.
Ladies circle chair Katrina Oaten said: “This film should appeal to different generations so come along and relive your Grease memories or experience this great film for the very first time! 1950s dress is encouraged, as is dancing in the aisles!”
Doors will open at 7.30pm and the event will start at 8pm.
