COLLABORATION is the debut exhibition of CRAG (The Calderdale Rainbow Art Group) at Nelsons’ Wine Bar, Hebden Bridge, from today (August 18).

The exhibition promotes the work of founder members Sally Darlington and Christopher Lucas Furminger, both from Todmorden.

CRAG was set up as a unique opportunity for creative gay people of the Calder Valley to come together to exhibit and promote their artistic talents.

Sally Darlington is a Todmorden based textile artist. A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, she specialises in machine and hand embroidery transferred into fine art pieces. She runs her own art gallery, Ntama, in Halifax Road, Todmorden, and is a member of Northlight Studios in Hebden Bridge.

Christopher Furminger specialises in homoerotic paintings and portraits. A graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University, his work draws inspiration from his own expriences as a gay man, often using local models.

The exhibition includes collaborative pieces from Sally and Chris and runs for three weeks.
