Is there a story form your life that you would like to tell with pictures?
An aspect of your self, identity or daily experiences that you would like to express visually?
If so a 10 week course created by Helen Sargeant at Artsmill, Linden Mill, Hebden Bridge, which starts on October 7, might fit the bill.
Helen said: “We will be looking at the intersection between art and life and those artists who have used autobiography within their practice. We will be building a visual journal and working towards
developing ideas from your journal into larger pieces of artwork. At the end of the 10 weeks you will have completed one journal and have a portfolio of work to share with others,”
Helen will introduce you to a number of formal art skills and methodologies that will enable you to explore visual narrative including observational drawing, pictorial framing and composition, the use of duration,
time, visual note taking and experimental mark making. We will be utilising drawing, painting, collage, text, print and photography media.
She said the course is designed for the absolute beginner through to the more experienced.
The court costs £120 for 10 weeks based on a 2.5 hour session each week. To book contact Helen by calling 07811337355 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
