Illustrated talks, packed display boards and special screenings over four days will culminate in the chance to see images from Todmorden Photographic Society’s archives when it stages its annual exhibition.
This year the society’s showcase at Todmorden Town Hall will run from Friday, November 15, to Monday, November 18.
Opening at 6.30pm on the Friday, the first session will see the public open competition prizes presented at 7.30pm, and there will be a screening of digital images.
The event resumes at 10am on Saturday morning with a coffee morning also available, and digital images will be projected at 3pm. In the evening, at 7.30pm, Mr Gordon Yates of Rochdale will present “Islay, Queen of the Hebrides”, an illustrated talk.
Sunday will see the doors open from 2.30pm to 4pm, with digital images projected for the final time at 3pm. The exhibition re-opens again at 6.30pm and at 7.30pm Mr John Coles of Manchester will present an illustrated talk on “New Zealand”.
The final day sees doors open at 6.30pm on the Monday when you will be able to see a selection of images of the town in the presentation “Todmorden From The Club Archives”, which begins at 7.30pm.
This will include photographs of the town taken at various times in the society’s 106-year history.
A club spokesman said: “For the Monday session we’ve dug into the archives going back through the years, some from right back when the club started.”
