From a Norse journey to streets of Todmorden, year will be in focus

IMAGES of Todmorden through this year will one of the highlights of the 2011 Todmorden Photographic Society annual exhibition this weekend.

It runs over four days from tomorrow, Friday, November 18 to Monday, November 21 at Todmorden Town Hall.

The exhibition begins tomorrow evening at 7.30pm when there will be the presentation of trophies to this year’s prizewinners and a screening of some of the images entered into this year’s competition.

On Saturday the event will be open from 10am, when society members will also be running a coffee morning. There will be another chance to see the projected images at 3pm and at 7.30pm Mrs D. Burrows, of Shipley, will present “A Norse Journey”.

On Sunday the doors open from 2.30pm to 4.30pm and again from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. There will be a final chance to see the projected images at 3pm. At 7.30pm society members will present “Todmorden 2011”, a look at many aspects of the town’s year.

The exhibition ends on Monday evening when Mr Michael Newton, of Hebden Bridge, presents his talk “A Changing Face of Hebden Bridge” at 7.30pm.
