If you hear gunshots echoing from the moorland above Todmorden on Friday night (April 19), then don’t be alarmed is the message from a film production company.
Tiber Films, who are filming a chase movie in Todmorden and other parts of Calderdale, are set to shoot its final scenes around the former Country Friends pub at Sourhall.
Joseph Cairns, of the production team, said they wanted to warn people they might hear shots being fired, between 9pm and 11pm.
“We’re doing the final scenes around Country Friends and we have been given clearance by Calderdale Council and the police, but we wanted to warn people that they might hear gunshots - they’re going to echo down the valley,” he said.
Mr Cairns said he could not yet release the film’s title but said the production, which includes input from Film Four and the BFI, was in the same vein as films by director Ken Loach or independent productions like My Summer Of Love, an award-winner filmed in and around Todmorden around a decade ago.
He added that the company was grateful for the help and warm welcome they had received in Todmorden and gave a special thanks to Kafe Central in the town centre.
