Keen local photographers took advantage of some unseasonal sunny weather at the weekend to take some scenic snaps for their autumn almanacs.

Sunday was indeed a sunny day as the wind and rain of recent weeks gave way to blue skies over the upper Calder Valley.

Boris Stock and Bo Melnyk both spotted paragliders enjoying the view above Stoodley Pike during the afternoon.

Bo, a regular contributor of photos to the Todmorden News and Hebden Bridge Times, has also been photographing views around Walsden in recent weeks.

John Ross captured an image of St Mary’s Church, Todmorden, looking picturesque in the autumn sunshine.

David Martin continued the religious theme, photographing St James’s Parish Church, Mytholm, surrounded by trees in their autumn colours.

John Wojowski, of Colden, was inspired by the scenery while walking at Hardcastle Crags, Hebden Bridge, and took several photos of trees shedding their leaves.

And Billie Klinger sent us a photo of the view from Withins Gate.

If you have taken a great photo in the upper Calder Valley, send it to us and we’ll publish it.
