Following on from the success of the talk with prioprietor, Alison Bartram, Gillian Lee Smith is launching her first solo show at the Heart Gallery, Market Street, Hebden Bridge.

Gillian choose the Heart Gallery, Hebden Bridge, to show her first solo work since her TV debut on BBC2 ‘Show me the Monet’ The TV show created many opportunities for the artist including her work being shown and shown at The Mall Gallery in London. Since then, Gillian has dedicated her time to creating a body of work for her ‘We all Cast Shadows’ exhibition, which runs from October 2 (preview at 6pm that evening) to January 21. On October 30 she will be painting live at Heart Gallery, and there will be a book signing there with her on November 29.

Gillian’s journey since has taken her from sculpture to painting and in 2012 her dedication and commitment was rewarded when she was chosen to be a featured artist on BBC2’s Show Me The Monet, making it through to the final exhibition where her painting was sold at auction at The Mall Gallery in London.

“Gillian’s paintings are powerfully evocative and emotive,” says Alison Bartram.
