COMEDIANS Jollyboat will be appearing on home Calder Valley turf with a free-entry show of comedy songs next week, before taking their show to the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.

Brothers Tom and Ed Croft, who perform as Jollyboat, have been an instant success on the comedy circuit this year, winning the Musical Comedy Awards in London, as well as new act of the year competitions at all three of Liverpool’s larger comedy clubs.

Their songs range in theme from computers to pirates, and from Jesus to modern celebs.

The pair live in Liverpool, but grew up in Todmorden.

Tom and Ed say they are looking forward to playing Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the largest arts festival in the world, and believe it could could well be their big break.

The duo will be performing over 60 shows at the fringe, which lasts throughout August, but are keen to visit home for a little rest before the frantic month.

“We play comedy clubs all over the country these days, but the best gigs are back home”, said Ed.

“It’s great to have a supportive crowd of friends, family, and people who love comedy,” Tom added.

You can see Jollyboat’s Fringe Preview Show at the New Oddfellows Hall on Water Street, at 7.30pm on July 28. Entry to the show is free, but donations are appreciated.
