It’s all the rage at the moment - television show The Big Reunion specialises in inviting bands to reform and three of Todmorden’s best will do so at a fundraising evening at Jack’s House pub, Burnley Road, Todmorden, this Saturday, September 7 (8.30pm start).
Entry is by £3 wristband which are available from the pub and you can order them in advance by ringing licensees Mark Arrowsmith and Sue Landale at Jack’s on 01706 819192. Money raised will be divided between a cancer cause and the Jack Stanley Fund, which is raising money in memory of the soldier who died from wounds received in Afghanistan.
Jack, who was from Littleborough, was a regular at the pub and close friends with local musicians including the Bambinos, who are one of the groups reforming and likely to be first on stage on the night.
Stanley In Heaven, with Joey Whitehead and Joe Wilde in the ranks, and probable headliners Velma (pictured), with Matt Crossley on lead guitar, complete the bill - which promises a punkier indie rock as opposed to boy bands favoured by the TV show.
