The distinctive orchestral sound of Bruckner’s 4th Symphony and a concerto by Weber in an all too rare solo performance played on the bassoon are two of the highlights at Todmorden Orchestra’s Spring Concert at Todmorden Town Hall on Saturday, March 17.
The bassoon solo will be played by Rosemary Cow, a talented musician who has performed regularly with UK and Irish orchestras, writes Bill Hunter.
Before, the orchestra has its regular coffee morning next Saturday, March 3, in the Central Methodist Church Hall at Bramsche Square, Todmorden. The doors open at 10am. Tickets for the concert will be on sale and are also available from the secretary on 01706 817333 or Todmorden Information Centre, at £10 (£8 concessions and £1 for under 16s).
