THREE years after their guitars rang out their final chord, mod band the Circles have reformed to play a charity gig with a Todmorden DJ.
The date, at Walsden Cricket and Bowling Club, Scott Street, on Friday, May 11 (7.30pm), sees them team up with their old friend Keith “Rudders” Rudman and fellow DJ Warby to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Unit at Wythenshaw Hospital, Manchester.
Tickets are £5 and are available from the club, from the Secret Garden in Todmorden Market Hall and at Beales Department Store, Rochdale. After a couple of warm-up gigs all are looking forward to the event, says Keith.
“I’ve been nagging them to get back together but they said they would only do it for a good cause. Half the tickets have been snapped up already, so get them quickly. The club is the first place they played in Todmorden, where they have always gone down very well.”
Expect a hard-edge set of material penned by the likes of the Kinks, the Who, the Jam, and indie classics.
