Vocalist Jo Gerard will be joining Antony Brannick to perform at the next ‘Antony and Friends’ concert on Saturday, May 16, at the Central Methodist Church in Todmorden.

The concert had been planned for February but unfortunately had to be cancelled due to illness.

Jo has a varied career as an actor in television, film and theatre. She’s worked on a range of projects recently including Victoria Wood’s ‘That day we sang’ and on Tim Benjamin’s opera ‘Emily’. She has a passion for musicals and is delighted to join Antony to perform the music of Stephen Sondheim.

Antony said: “There will be a selection from the various musicals that Sondheim has written. Even if the musicals are not familiar there will be some well known pieces such as ‘Not a day goes by’, ‘Send in the clowns’, ‘Here’s to the ladies who lunch’ and ‘Losing my mind’. I’ll be contributing an arrangement of Dave Brubeck’s Jazz classic ‘Take Five’ and also Gershwin’s lush ‘Rhapsody in Blue’.”

The concert is at 7.30pm and all are welcome. Admission is free and refreshments are provided. A retiring collection is taken.
