The Little Theatre, Holme Street, Hebden Bridge, finish their season with the heartwarming classic, ‘The Railway Children’, a far cry from the dark atmosphere of their last play ‘The Accrington Pals”.

There were so many children at the auditions that director Jenny Gore, rather than disappoint too many, decided to double cast the play.

This has presented its own problems because the two casts have become quite competitive and there was the potential for disharmony when they realised that one cast would have one more performance than the other.

So, for the first time ever, the company are running a second matinee on the last Sunday and as Jenny said: “This solution is keeping the peace because now they’ve got four performances each.”

The play runs from December 1 to 6 with performances starting at 7.30pm and the two matinees at 2.30pm.

Tickets are available online at www.hblt.org.uk, in person at Innovation cafe, Hebden Bridge, or by calling 01422 843907.
