Two of the parishioners of St Mary’s Church Todmorden have landed parts in TAODS production of The Vicar of Dibley which opens on Wednesday, June 25, and runs until Saturday, June 28.
Emily Rawlinson plays the part of Alice Tinker, the verger at the village church. Alice is very scatter-brained and naive, but also sweet natured and endearing, believing whole-heartedly in The Easter Bunny, The Tooth Fairy and Father Christmas.
Matthew Parker is Hugo Horton, the sweet-natured, friendly and child-like yet dim-witted son of David Horton (Anthony Peter), gentleman farmer, multi-millionaire and chairman of the Parish Council.
Hugo is very fond of Alice – he has been attracted to her since they were children - and Geraldine Grainger (Justine Sutcliffe), the vicar tries to play cupid to them in one of the four Episodes that feature in the TAODS production. The question is, will they ever get married? Can Hugo be decisive and overcome his bullying father for a change?
Both Emily and Matthew are stalwarts of the Hippodrome stage having appeared in many productions over the years. They are enjoying the challenges that these two iconic characters bring.
Doors open at 7pm and the performance begins at 7.30pm
