Newcomer Panama Sears joins some of Todmorden Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society’s regulars in TAODS’ latest production, the farce Heatstroke by Eric Chappell.

Matt Parker who played the part of Hugo in The Vicar of Dibley has appeared in many comedies at the Hippodrome including Tom, Dick and Harry, My Fat Friend and Calendar Girls.

Matt has also done some directing, notably Teechers at the Hippodrome. He has not, as yet achieved his ambition to appear in a musical.

Richard Holley who played Hindley Earnshaw in Wuthering Heights has also appeared in both musicals and plays, some of a more serious nature such as After Miss Julie and Night Must Fall.

He says that many of the parts he has played recently have been rogues of one kind or another.

They are joined by Michael Gill, last year’s Mayor of Todmorden, who appeared in The 39 Steps last year while still the Mayor.

Tom Jennings who joined TAODS earlier this year to play the part of Heathcliffe in Wuthering Heights takes on the role of Moon, a rather shady character.

TAODS also welcome back Rachel Doyle-Richards who made her debut with TAODS last year in The Vicar of Dibley. She has had a lot of acting and directing experience with other societies and recently played the part of May in Accrington Pals at Hebden Bridge Little Theatre. Rachel teaches A-Level drama at Rochdale College.

John Tattersall, who is himself no stranger to the Hippodrome stage, is directing this talented group of actors to bring the audience this hilarious comedy in just under four weeks time.

Heatstroke runs from Wednesday, June 24, to Saturday, June 27, at 7.30pm (doors open 7pm).
