Hebden Bridge Little Theatre are staging Arthur Miller’s powerful drama All My Sons for their Spring production.
The play opens with the ominous discovery that an “ill wind” has blown down the apple tree in the back yard of the Keller home - planted as a memorial to their son Larry who went missing in action during the war.
Questions loom over the play - was he one of the pilots whose planes crashed due to faulty parts shipped out of his own father’s factory, and whose responsibility was that?
When Larrie’s ex-fiancee arrives and announces her engagement to younger brother Chris, there begins an awful reckoning.
This was Miller’s first commercial success, attracting acclaim for its exposure of the so-called “American Dream”, devoted to the god of profit.
The play runs from April 22 to 27 (7.30pm each evening with an additional matinee on the last Saturday at 2.30pm). Tickets are available from Innovation, Hebden Bridge, or by telephoning 01422 843907.
