Due to circumstances beyond their control Hebden Bridge Little Theatre’s listed production of Alan Bennett’s Habeas Corpus is being postponed until next year.
As a replacement they are staging Jim Cartwright’s poignant drama the Rise and Fall of Little Voice and are fortunate to enlist the services of Victoria Kent in the challenging lead role of the withdrawn girl who only comes alive when impersonating the voices of other singers. Victoria trained at the Italia Conti Academy and has already had professional success. Alan Stockdill will direct the play which runs from June 17 to 22.
It will round off a spring schedule for the theatre which starts with the Youth Group’s presentation Magic and Mystery, four short plays based around the theme of “what is real and what is not?” on May 10 and 11 starting at 7pm and tickets are available on the door.
This will be followed by Shelagh Stephenson’s powerful Five Kinds of Silence from May 17-18 at 7.30pm. Tickets are available at Innovation or can be booked by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
