Whatever the weather, the show must go on - and that’s certainly the case with the promenade prouction of Into The Wild Woods.

It is one of thousands of family friendly events which nationally make up a Family Arts Festival and takes place on Halloween (Friday, October 31) at 1pm in Ferney Lee Wild Garden at the school, Ferney Lee Road, Todmorden, which is pushchair friendly.

The show is free to come and watch and features three actors, Katrina Heath, Nicola Ingram and Anjali Vyas-Brannick.

Katrina was awarded Arts Council funding to host, write and produce the event.

As space is limited, people are asked to arrive in plenty of time ahead of the 1pm start.

All three actors are from Todmorden.

Nicola moved here after graduating from drama school in Manchester and Anjali was brought up in Todmorden, attending Todmorden C of E School before completing her training in York. Katrina has lived and worked in Todmorden for many years.

They will take the audience on a quest through The Wild Wood (Ferney Lee Wild Garden) where there will be plenty to watch, do and make.

It is hoped that the audience will provide important feedback on the production that Katrina can then use in her evaluation report to The Arts Council.

“Into the Wild Woods is an opportunity for me to learn how to put on an outdoor, promenade production.” said Katrina.

“I have already learned the actors need warm, sturdy boots and decent raincoats even for rehearsals since they have been taking place in typhoon conditions!

“However we are sure the worst of the weather will be over by Friday and the audience will have an amazing theatrical experience.”

Michael Morpurgo, author of War Horse and former Children’s Laureate, is the patron for this year’s festival.
