Calderdale has one of lowest number of empty houses in UK

Calderdale is ranked as fifth in top 10 locations where empty homes are on the decline, new data reveals.

Research from Coulters, using Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government data, has revealed that Calderdale sits in fifth spot for locations where empty homes are on the decline, with a 16% decrease in vacant dwellings year-on-year.

The figures for Calderdale show 3,143 vacant dwellings in 2019 compared to the previous year where the figure showed 3,746 - a drop of 16%.

There are currently a shocking 640,000 empty homes in England, which account for 2.65% of all houses. However, some areas are seeing a huge decline in empty properties.
